Vehicles of the future:
On December 2, the automotive industry took stock at Bercy of the changes affecting the sector. The ecological transition is at the top of the list of actions to be taken. Jean-Luc Brossard, R&D Director of the Automotive & Mobility Platform (PFA), talks about the vehicle of tomorrow, where plastics have their place.
"We must react. Our automotive industry is threatened by the risk of being downgraded," said Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy and Finance, in his December 2 speech to automotive industry professionals. Forecasts for the beginning of 2020 anticipate a drop in demand of 10% to 20%. France, Europe's second-largest car-producing country in 2011, is now fifth behind Italy, Spain, the UK and Germany. The first action announced by the Minister on this occasion was to "make the bet on the clean car". Supporting subcontractors in their ecological transition through financing is the other priority.
