2-in-1 Shredder and Granulator
The technical innovation is based primarily on two key features. First, an intelligent HHS dosing drawer that feeds the cutting rotor horizontally with material to be processed, according to the load. Second, the ability to activate different control programs, depending on the polymer, to regulate feed speed and pressure.
The new HHS feeding system now allows the transformation of large hollow parts, such as blow-molded components and their waste, directly into regrind of the desired particle size, without the often time-consuming pre-shredding step. This eliminates the need for an upstream shredder and all conveying lines between primary and final grinding stages. It reduces energy costs, simplifies technical complexity, and provides significant savings in time and space.

Dionymer is a Bordeaux-based biotech and green chemistry start-up.
The company embraces the circular economy by developing an innovative technology that transforms organic waste into a range of biodegradable polymer materials (PHA: polyhydroxyalkanoates) using microorganisms.
This sustainable solution addresses two key needs:
- Creating a new high-value revenue stream for organic waste producers (farmers, municipalities, agri-food industry)
- Reducing the environmental impact of plastics manufacturers and other sectors (cosmetics, packaging, medical, textiles…) by replacing petrochemical polymers in their supply chains and products.
Dionymer’s approach is deeply rooted in a circular economy strategy through the use of second-generation feedstock, an energy- and resource-efficient process (ambient temperature, ambient pressure, no chemical solvents, water-based only), and a range of products that are inherently bio-based, biodegradable, biocompatible, and compostable, with an end-of-life that has no environmental impact (no microplastics). Replacing petrochemical polymers helps mitigate the effects of climate change—this is Dionymer’s core mission.
Each ton of PHA biopolymer produced by Dionymer avoids at least 2 tCO₂eq compared to the production of a ton of equivalent petrochemical polymer (e.g., polypropylene). Dionymer’s industrial plan aims to maximize this impact as developments progress, targeting several thousand tCO₂eq savings by 2030. The company is fully committed to decarbonizing industry, with the major goal of accelerating the ecological transition of the plastics sector.
By developing an innovative, clean process for the high-value exploitation of local biomass, Dionymer contributes to creating local, low-impact value chains and helps companies achieve higher environmental performance, notably by eliminating the use of fossil resources. Dionymer’s industrial project inherently drives economic dynamism in rural French and European territories. The decentralized fermenter model is designed to reduce operational costs for local stakeholders (farmers, businesses, biogas plants, cooperatives, etc.) and create local jobs for installation and operation. Nouvelle-Aquitaine, where half the population lives in rural areas, is an ideal first territory to develop this virtuous model.
Beyond its environmental and territorial commitment, which forms the foundation of the project, Dionymer’s founding team promotes and upholds principles of social responsibility and equity in current and future governance and recruitment.

HoliShred
HoliShred embraces a circular economy approach by transforming plastic waste and production scrap into reusable resources. Unlike the linear industrial model, this tool enables local material loop closure, particularly in research laboratories and private company R&D departments. By converting polymers into ready-to-use flakes, it promotes local recycling and reduces dependence on virgin raw materials.
Its use and material characterization allow for concrete analysis of polymer recyclability, including polymers loaded with up to 30% glass fiber, thanks to its high-torque mechanical system. This approach extends the lifespan of products by enabling the reproduction of technical parts when the original material is no longer available on the market.
Designed to handle small quantities of material in a safe environment with a dual safety system, the device encourages experimentation with waste valorization without requiring heavy industrial processes.

Plastic purification using supercritical CO₂
Post-consumer plastics often contain unwanted substances accumulated over their lifecycle, limiting their reuse and regulatory compliance, especially for sensitive applications like food contact. To address this, IPC has developed a supercritical CO₂ purification approach. In this unique physical state, CO₂ acts simultaneously as a gas—able to penetrate deep into polymer matrices—and as a liquid solvent, dissolving targeted contaminants without leaving residues or altering the material. Process parameters (pressure, temperature, duration) can be adjusted to selectively extract molecules depending on the polymer type.
Designed from the outset for circularity, the process operates in a closed loop: CO₂ is continuously recovered and reinjected, making it an efficient and sustainable solution. By significantly improving the purity of regenerated plastics, this method expands the applications of recycled materials, ensures safe usage, and enhances the value of post-consumer streams—supporting a more robust and credible circular economy.
